Se7en Opening Sequence..
In lesson we was looking at the film "SE7en" which stars Brad Pitt and Morgen freeman, and we got instructed to look at the mise-en-scene of the opening sequence. At first my group got instructed to look and props and the way things were placed in the opening sequence, the first thing that i notices was that Morgen Freeman was a very routine man and didn't like changes and things out of place. For example Morgen freeman is very neat and tidy and you can tell this because his jacket was placed on the bed before going to work, he made sure that he look nice and didn't look like he had just woke up, with all his stuff he also had them placed by the front door and had a separate pocket for everything i noticed that he put his badge away so no one could see it so people took him as face value. As Morgen freeman got to the crime scene there was blood on the blind behind the other detective and then it makes the scene look really bad and then to think when Morgan asked if the kid see it, he is thinking this pore child could of sat there a seen all that.
When Brad Pitt arrives he seems to think that he is top man and no one can tell him different to that, and as they are walking down the stairs and talking brad Pitt is trying to get in front of Morgen to show that he is big and will always think that he is better then him when he really is not, you can tell a big difference by the way they were both dressed Morgen was really smart but looked no different to as he would if he was just going out because he didn't have his police badge on show and wanted people to take him at face value not at being a police man, were as brad Pitt had a open leaver jacket on with the badge on the front so he wants people to no that he is a police officer and didn't really mind what people thought of him as well, he also had half his shirt tucked in and half out he look really scruffy.
When they was looking at the killer it was all dark colours and dull colours there was no life about him, you don't see his face at all and he is a believer in god because out of a dollar bill he cuts out 'god' and sticks it in the book, this shows that he wanted to kill all the people that have sinned and gone against god. Getting on to Morgan Freeman's house it is very dull and has no colour about it, everything that Morgan freeman dose always seem to be something to do with work, he lives on his own i think that is because he wants to be focused on his job and nothing else and he hasn't got time with building up an family. For example he lives in a bad area so there is crime going on all around him, in the opening sequence he is trying to go asleep and he puts a metronome on so all his thoughts about his job and crime go out of his head but it doesn't work and we no this because he sleeps with the light on so it shows that he is scared.
In this film you get to see another side of new york, because in every other film it is shown as a place were you go and spend loads of money and that but in this film you see everything but what they have described in other films and it make it sound and look as bad as it is meant to be..

All About Me And Why I Choose Media..
As you already probably no my name George Burke and i am doing my A levels at Welling 6th form, myself as a student at the moment i would say that i am hard working and determined to achieve a higher standard of work, i also put myself down as helpful and willing to learn.
My GCSE results were better then i expected, i didn't think that i would achieve what i did because of the amount of time that i had of last year due to a accident, i got 6 A* to C grades and two D and one E, i was very pleased with my results and it has made me think that i can achieve more that's why i changed my decision on going back and doing a levels and not going to collage. I choose to take media studies because i took in for GCSE and i enjoyed it very much, i no people say that you shouldn't take a subject only because you enjoy it you have to be good at it and have a good understanding of the subject that you have chosen, i enjoy media and i have a good understanding of what i have to do this year to achieve what i need to achieve, if people asked me if it was good i would always say yes but then say is it the right thing for you to do because there is a lot of work and if you dint like it you will no enjoy doing it.
I am setting my targets and goals higher now because i have proven to myself and other people that i can do it with hard work and determination, i want to go on to uni studying media and film but also if there was a job opportunity coming up to do with media and film i would take that but make sure it is the right thing that i want to do, because the last thing that i want to do is go into a job and not enjoy it were as if i went uni i would properly enjoy it more and then come out with a better job at the end of it. I would also like to achieve something that my uncles have done there self and that is to run there own business, and have the power over people what they had over me when i was learning and guide them and help them to achieve things in there life, like what i did.
